Benjamin Kiehn has been admitted as German and European Patent Attorney since 2019. He focuses on supporting clients conducting examination and opposition procedures in Germany and Europe. Due to his extensive experience in inter partes proceedings, he is well-versed and has gained comprehensive practical knowledge in legal validity proceedings as well as in defending and enforcing patents in first-instance as well as in appeal proceedings. Benjamin Kiehn has a broad technical background, especially in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering and automotive engineering.

Before joining Thum & Partner as a patent attorney, he worked for two renowned patent law firms in Germany.

Benjamin Kiehn studied aerospace engineering at the Technical University of Munich, specializing in aviation engineering and flight dynamics. Subsequently, he worked as a technical consultant and development engineer in the automotive industry for several years.
