Mathis Nalbach joined Thum & Partner in 2022 as a trainee patent attorney and is seeking admission as a German Patent Attorney and as a European Patent Attorney.

As a mechanical engineer, Mathis Nalbach has extensive expertise in the fields of medical technology, mechanical engineering, biophysics and control technology. As part of his dissertation, he developed a device for performing tensile tests on nanoscale fibers. He won third-party funding from Austria Wirtschaftsservice Gesellschaft mbH to build a prototype. His scientific results have been published in peer-reviewed journals, have been presented by Mr. Nalbach at international conferences, and are part of two scientific grant applications. In addition, he is an inventor himself, and his research has led to a patent application.
