Matthias Schädler has been working as a patent attorney for Thum & Partners since 2022. In addition to drafting patent applications and assisting our clients in examination proceedings before the European Patent Office and the German Patent and Trademark Office, Matthias Schädler handles opposition and appeal proceedings.
Prior to his training to become a patent attorney with a renowned patent law firm in Munich, Matthias Schädler graduated from the Technical University of Munich in mechanical engineering, which he completed in 2018 with a Master of Science, equivalent to a Dipl.-Ing (TUM). During his studies, he specialized in, amongst other things, vehicle and motor technology and worked for companies in the automotive industry. He gained practical experience in the field of engine calibration, in automotive production in Rosslyn, South Africa, and in commercial vehicle development as part of a pre-development project for a modular chassis. In his master's thesis, he dealt with automated driving with a focus on the interaction of trajectory planning and powertrain control.
