Frank Eichelhardt advises clients on all aspects of intellectual property, in particular in the fields of mechanical engineering, physics, medical technologies, electronics, automotive engineering, and communications. He has considerable experience in European opposition proceedings, having represented his clients in well over 100 oral hearings. He has also been involved in German opposition proceedings and German and international infringement cases. Frank Eichelhardt has drafted well over 100 patent applications and handled numerous examination proceedings.

Prior to becoming a partner at Thum & Partner, he was a team leader at one of the largest law firms atLake Constance. After obtaining his doctorate, he was deputy head of a research group at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in the field of nuclear fusion research.

Frank Eichelhardt has an extensive scientific and technical background. He holds a PhD in vacuum technology and tritium retention and studied physics with a focus on particle and nuclear physics. He was a fellow of the Landesgraduiertenkolleg Baden-Württemberg and is the author of more than ten scientific publications.
