Jonas Weickert advises clients in all IP matters with a special focus on biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, industrial engineering and automotive engineering. He has experience in filing and defending oppositions under German and European law as well as in handling German and international infringement cases. He has drafted far more than 100 patent applications and handled numerous examination proceedings.
Before becoming a partner of Thum & Partners, he worked for one of Germany’s leading IP law firms in Munich as well as one of the largest law firms at Lake Constance.
Jonas Weickert has a broad natural sciences and engineering background. He holds a degree in physics with a focus on biophysics and wrote his doctoral thesis on alternative photovoltaic technologies. He received scholarships from the Elite Network of Bavaria and the Carl Zeiss Foundation and is the author of over 30 scientific publications and a textbook which have been quoted over 1500 times.
